My Adobe subscription has come to an end, well it did last month, this month the system is set to auto renew without letting you know, the cost went up to £45.00 per month from around £37.00 which was nice (you also have to pay £220.00 if you want to cancel your subscription btw).

I complained about this and they offered to let me back onto the original price plan and they refunded me the difference without even asking, so it must be a fairly common thing.

The only way for them to do this though was to cancel my subscription and start a new one, they also didn't charge the £220.00 fee.

I'm now looking at just using the Photography package at £8.57 per month and buying Final Cut X at £229.00

I am happy using either PP or FC so is there any real reason I shouldn't move from PP to FC.

Does anyone know if Apple have any plans to drop FC in the near future?

Have you tried DaVinci Resolve?
I downloaded it searching for something to use on Surface Pro and after I spent some time with it I actually prefer it to FCP. And it's free! smile
You can map the keyboard to use all the shortcuts from FCP or AP etc for ease of transfer.

Resolve is a great thing to learn, - powerful pro grading tool, and really has come on leaps and bounds as an editing programme in its own right.

A good tutorial series here;

The other thing you can do, is photo package as you mentioned, but also then add on a single app license for premiere. - That still works out a little cheaper than the full CC package.

I feel awkwardly tied to the full package, as I still use after effects from time to time, and clients sometimes send me illustrator files. Adobe really have a monopoly in the creative industry!

Another vote for Resolve here, went across from Premiere earlier this year as I felt I wasn't getting anywhere near good vfm paying £40 a month when I only used it occasionally. I also got stung for the leaving adobe partway though the year even though I paid monthly which imo isn't on and shouldn't even be legal in this country.
