I've just bought myself a cable that gives audio-in for my Pioneer head unit so I can connect the iPod directly.

My initial idea was to wire it from the back of the head-unit in to the glove compartment. But, its a very close fit with zillions of wires behind the unit - anyone know how I'd easily get a cable from one to the other? I assume I need to remove (or loosen) the center console to gain better access?

Alternatively, I could wire it somewhere different. Perhaps to the center storage area?

Maybe you could run it under the transmission tunnel and into the small storage space at the back. There's plenty of room under it, as I have a microwave sensor for my alarm under it. I take it's a jack socket to USB? As long as it's long enough it should be cool.

I've wired the rear speaker feeds from my stereo into a free floating 1/4 inch headphone socket which emerges into the storage area at the rear of the centre console. Very easy to run a wire from the stereo to there.
