With all this talk of driver training and power upgrades why is it i never see any of you lot at Track Days?
It can'nt be the insurance as a limited milage classic policy with track day cover is only around £3-500.00 ie not much if anything more than a normal policy. It can'nt be the cost, track days are a very reasonable £120-130.00 + a tank full of petrol. And it can'nt be wear and tear. Ive done a number now and the car pulls better now than it did when i got it!
So what is the reason guys? Im getting lonely out there!

What about the rest of you?
Give us a chance....Keep your hair on....Enough already...Theres no need to keep going on...Alright alright....
Having owned my S for 9 months, I fully hope to track it...
Thats why the 'North Weald 1st Lotus' day has been organised....'Driver tuition in an S...?'
I also bought the TVR to drive open roads, roof off driving, meet like minded people, satisfy a lifelong wish, travel in convoys, waffle about stuff on here, join the local region, take part in rallies, be able to look at my P&J everyday, step the tail out now and again, enjoy the noise, drive a sportscar whenever I want to, go to Le Man with 25 other TVRs.....
Track days are and will be included in the above list it takes time, commitment, and Money....
Well thats my 2pennyworth....

Sorry! i do get carried away, but over the last couple of years i have learned only a small part of what the S is capable of. I too enjoy roof off country lane blasts, meets and greets etc but the enjoyment of driving on an open circuit with no speed cameras, no traffic lights, no farm vehicles, no sunday drivers, no one comming the other way etc, etc far exceeds that of driving on the 'open?' roads.
You can never legally/safely enjoy the S's road holding abilities on the public roads but a TVRCC track day gives you the opportunity to explore the cars abilites with like minded people. They too offer driver tuition by instructors some of which have raced TVR's. Who better to learn from.
In terms of cost, the insurance through the club is cheaper for me than through any other company and costs £500.00 less than running my Audi every day. The wear and tear items are minimal especially if you drive relativly sensibly ie not braking at the last minuite.
You go as fast as you feel comfortable with and get an opportunity to realy enjoy, learn, and explore the cars abilities.
Do not feel scared, aprehensive or daunted by it go for it you will not be sorry.
Even if you only do it once a year.
Come on guys i need some S company!
