rear trailing arms
Discussion
Finally got round to cleaning and repainting the rear suspension today, armed with wire brush and scraper. Various tiny cracks in the plastic coating carefully scraped away... till I got to the front of the offside A-frame - and just behind the outer bush, the tiny innocent-looking crack in the plastic turned into two holes about an inch long and 1/4 inch wide.

again! Can this be welded? Is it worth welding? I don't want to take the car off the road just now to take the rear suspension to bits, to replace the whole arm (although I wouldn't mind so much over the winter) so even a temporary (but safe) repair would do.
How much are the arms and where can I get them from?

Can't see the pics - try changing the filename so that it's got no spaces!
Not sure about welding. I just had mine replaced by Austec. Only one was rusted but I had to have the pair replaced as they don't make the originals anymore. They were £250 each plus fitting.

Ooh, not good.
If I were you I'get that changed soonest, my offside one actually snapped on me as was coming off a roundabout and threw me sideways up the embankment. (200 yards after setting off on a TVRCC meet. VERY embarrassing!!) Thankfully there were no railings or barriers and I missed the trees by inches!
Get it changed!!

Sorry to hear about the trailing arm - had a similar problem a few weeks ago and found the parts very hard to find. I got a reconditioned one from Exactly TVR as an exchange. Comes with bushes and fixings - and if you ask nicely, as much advice on fitting as you want.
