Yep...on the way home from Grif Growl Sat...fortunately not far from home.

Anyone not gone with the std replacement...i.e. a better home grown solution.

Anyone ever tried a twin cable set up ?

Chugga its not that common on the V8 is something out of line,or do you need a stop on the pedal as its possible you are stretching the cable

Make sure the cable is aligned with the pedal where it comes through the bulkhead. Don't adjust the pedal too high or the inner will kink causing premature failure. Consider fitting a throttle stop. It is possible to recycle the old cable by cutting six inches from the outer; if you do this it is also worth machining a taper onto the sleeve that the cable runs in at the pedal end, so the inner cable goes round a curve rather than a sharp corner iyswim.
