Does anyone have any experience with these kits, how hard they are to install and whether they are worthwhile?

Does anyone know how LeeBee is doing with his ally parts, they look seriously and I wanna get some. (easy podie)

Finally I've seen comments about ally surrounds for the dashboard dials. Does anyone know where I can get hold of some of these as they finish off the dashboard well.

My S1 is currently fairly bog standard so if anyone can think of any other reasonably priced upgrades/enhancements let me know.

Click on my profile and in the photo you'll see 17" wolfrace alloys, grey/red dark rear lights, TT mirrors, clear LED side repeaters and a boot mounted high level XJS US spec rear brake light made by Hella.
I'm also planning to replace the headlights with the clear units (non-fluted glass) at some point.

A few ideas to get you thinking.....

Just received a Sempal Central Locking Kit. I ordered it after seeing it on another thread last week.
Great service as iit arrived with two days of ordering.
I have the non remote type (as I was hoping to wire this from my alarm which has a central locking function).
I have not fitted it yet as I am out of action with a broken ankle - but having looked in the box it is really easy.
One control box to be fitted somewhere inside (say Passenger side behind glovebox)and then positive and earth wires for supply and two flexes into each door. The flexes are very long so there will be plenty for routing it. The connectors are seperate so can be fitted once the wires are all in place and cut to length. The two flexes both connect to the same atuator which needs to be fitted somewhere behind the door casing. From memory there is a space ideally suited to this. The hardest bit, I guess, will be tying it into the locking mechanism. It comes with clamps to attach to the upright rods feeding the locking pins at the top of the door casing. As the S1 does not have these, it will require some internal work with rods (provided)to make it work. Doesn't look too challenging. Sempal also do an elecric window kit which may 'float yer boat'.
For other mods, I have gone down the Kentish route with repeaters and blackened rear lamps. I am looking for a nice set of mirrors (TT or New Mini look good. Also saw some nice ones on a BMW Z3 or Z4). Still searching Ebay for a nice set of wheels but will go 17's and 45 profile rubber.
I found the best mod was a great looking girl in the spare seat but my wife didn't approve.
I guess she couldn't find anywhere to sit.
