fan/heater units

Does anyone know the origin of the heater/fan unit for an S2. Not much information in Steve Heath's book although it would appear to be one complete unit. The fan has packed up on my car and before I attempt to remove it I would welcome any information anyone may have.

Sure it is the fan not the switch?

certain, have checked fuse, switch and wiring which all seem fine

I think I saw somewhere that it's MGB origin and that all S's use the same.

Thanks for that, if this is the case then they will be available through Moss. I will check.

If its the same as the S1 its a vauxhall nova unit. I have changed mine. You dont need any tools too get the unit out of a nova so easy at the breakers. A bit fiddly to fit back in the S though

Can you keep the site posted with what you find out please? My S2 heater is less than useless in winter and the blower makes a racket, but I have not taken it out because it looks a grim job. Hope I am wrong and you can tell me its a piece of cake! Thanks.
