nearly a new front end.....
Discussion
very close encounter this morning, nudged out of a side street with cars parked both side's & the inevitable happened, all i heard was a sliding-tyres-on-wet-road kind of sound followed by a gold cavalier coming rapidly into view. much to my dismay it sounded like the whole front end had oblitorated when we collided.
as you could imagine i was very upset, until i actually looked at the damage, or lack of it (!!!!), all there was was i thick rubber stripe accross the nose of the S3, no cracks or scratches!!
just goes to show how strong the fibre glass really is.... cool.
one rub with the T-cut & back to new!
another close shave......
richard.

Glad to hear it was ok. I've just had a bit of a hairy incident at lunch time
Came down a hill onto a round about, truck coming on my right was indicating left up the hill, where I was coming from, I braked slightly checked his idication and carried on. Looked to my right to see truck still indicating bearing down on me
Dabbed the throttle and slid the back of the car out to the left, applied opposite lock and slid out of danger. Lots of cursing from truck driver as he drove off with his indicator still going.
Half intentional, half complete fluke!!

had a few close ones since buying the car in october, keep meaning to treat myself to a session at Bruntingthorpe 'proving ground' to brush up on opposite lock situations (fun or unprovoked!!), just waiting for these tyres to become less tready.
I had considered Brunters, Is it cost effective to get a few cars together?
Are you coming on Sunday.
"yetanotherplugmode"

checked the bonnet hinge pins (M12 screwed stick) & they look fine all but a bit un-technical as expected.
got away with the knock, but still need to reset the ECU, speedo sensor not worked for a while now & i think the car may be in a limp - home type of mode? any ideas?? crap running for about a week then suddenly ok-ish? although i can tell its not right,it does still motor when required but intil the sensor is replaced/repaired i dont suppose i'll know.
anyway, back to the beer for know!!

I have always gone to my local park and ride carpark on a sunday night to learn the limits of my cars. Safe and free.

Yes loads! Any large empty car park is ideal... just need to take a look around.
