oo my lovely dirty V8 makes it to the front of the right hand row .. fame at last for the old lady

Not sure about the massive airflow meter ones, but I think they may just be an overbraid kit for a Cologne V6, I'd try Demontweeks or soemwhere like that. I know you can by an overbraid kit for A series, Pintos and Zetecs, so a Cologne shouldn't be too hard to find.
I was looking at mine yesterday thinking that the intake air must have an elevated temperature where the ducting crosses over the manifold.
The braided covering should keep the air temp down a bit for cooler dense air giving a slight increase in BHP.

Or act as a insulator when it gets hot and heat the air...?
If it acts as an insulator then surely that's OK, but if it acts as a heat exchanger.......
