Yet another thank you
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Well let me start with the well worn "It was a great day at Silverstone on Sunday, lovely people and every thing seemed to run like clockwork". It was great to finally put faces to the posting names.
More significant for me though was the support and advice offered when my "steed" for the day started to mis-behave. Given that my car wasn't even a TVR it would have been terribly easy for people to gloat and take the piss. Not a bit of it. When the fault first appeared, causing me to pull over to investigate, the entire convoy pulled over to see if they could help. The advice and sympathy continued on arrival at Silverstone. The incident slightly marred an otherwise brilliant day.........but it would have been far worse without people to sound ideas off and offer support. It's true....Pistonheaders/TVR enthusiasts are a fabulous bunch of people. Thank you everyone.
For those of you interested after much discussion I nursed the car home, watching the guages like a hawk. This afternoon my worst fears were put to rest as the fault turned out to be a dodgy connection in one of the injector plugs. A few minutes of old fashioned diagnostics followed by some contact cleaner and all was well. Big pat on the back for all those who said it sounded like it was running on 7 cylinders....no fuel going into the number 2 cylinder. No harm done, no big bill;in fact no bill at all and the car is back to it's normal state. Being the masochist I am I asked the question about how much an engine rebuild would have cost had the fault been one of the many "worst case scenarios" suggested. £10,000........I went cold at the thought!
Thanks again everyone.
Kevin

Glad to hear it was nothing serious Kevin. I have to admit that when out on club meets/runs with the Tiv I do feel confident that if anything did go wrong there would be plenty of help and suggestions available.
Lets hope the V8S is back with you soon and the 'stable' is back to full complement!
Thanks again for the wheel. It's still sat in my living room, but will go on the car when I change the tyres next (all too soon I suspect).

The suspense is killing me!
Which car was it, the Chimaera 500, the F355 Spider, the V8S or the Golf GTi?
The 355 Spider, its very nice......!
Glad to see you got home Kevin, great to meet you finally and look forward to seeing your V8S at a meet sometime!
Mike

Kevin, glad you made it home with no dramas. Good to meet you. btw what was the name of that coating you were talking about for the your V8S manifolds and where did you get it from/done? Mine turned up on the Monday -nice and shiny at the moment!

Hi Keithy Boy,
We got the mainfolds for our V8S coated by Cam-Coat - www.camcoat.u-net.com/Exhausts.htm. The coating cost £295 + VAT + Shipping and is called "Race-spec". Obviously we have not seen the manifolds in action on our V8S but reports say the surface of the manifold is cool enough to hold whilst the engine is running.
Will let you know how we get on when the car is back together.
