Try and be honest here, what's been your top speed in your Tiv, so far?

No Bib here I hope and if there are, we all live on private estates with our own aircraft runways, all TVR owners are filthy rich, don't you know!

And best state V6 or V8 for the record...

To start the ball rolling, my highest is a tad over 140 with roof on, as indicated by a probably not too accurate speedo! V6 that is.

I managed 130 with roof down - didn't max out but ran out of road (private road, that is )although I don't think there would have been much more. At motorway speeds, I know my speedo is pretty accurate, at higher speeds, who knows, but she felt like she would max at 140......

That's not a good idea whilst driving, especially at that speed!

speedo not fully working, hit 5500rpm & still pulling ok (down my extreemly long drive of course) but didnt fancy the V6 bouncing off the limiter for too long.....

roof up, probly around 130mph as the max quoted is at 140mph @ 6000rpm.

you can work out if the speedo is true i suppose by saying 0rpm is 0mph, therefore 3000rpm will be 70mph. right? so 5500 works out to 128.33333mph, not to be too precice.

I've done 110 with the roof down and she was still pulling hard. But I'm a bit "bok bok" chicken - so I eased off at that point. Anyway - the driveway wasn't long enough to give it any more ...

With a reasonable exit in 3rd from Sear Corner I got my S3 up to ~120 (on the speedo so 10% generous?) on the Revett straight at Snetterton in 4th.
I think this is the longest straight on UK circuits so unlikely to get much faster except at an airfield.
It was begining to run out of steam so I imagine 130 would take a while to get up to (but changing into 5th may help).
Can't see how it would ever make 140 though (downhill with a following wind?).

Mine sees 140 fairly often on the track and 150 occasionally. At those speeds it is still pulling nicely. Maximum achieved speed is 160, this is on the rev limit in top so I don't tend to go there very often. It was definitely running out of puff though and I don't think it would have gone much faster even with taller gearing.

(GPS shows the speedo error is negligeable at 100 so I think these speeds are probably fairly realistic.)

Seen an indicated 130 on a runway, (V6, roof off), wasn't much more in it but maybe a little. I'd expect a wee bit more once various small problems sorted.

Above about 100 the handling gets a little vague so I tend to keep it down to license saving speeds anyway..

Mine..... 110 no prob on regular basis , had up round 120 and it gets a bit ....so slow down.

New springs a dampers will hopefully sort that out, then we can go for the Land Speed record

Roof on, breathing in and eyes wide open, I can get upto 5500rpm, around 130, in my S1. It takes a while though once you get past 110.

I tried the sleeping bit in my 307. Did about a mile on the M40 on cruise control. Side airbags are great cos' when I woke up I had a pillow. It took my a while to realise what was going on as I had glanced the armco and was doing anbout 70 sideways in the fast lane.

The car was scrap but no worry, it was a company car and the TIV was safely in the garage. Even the timing was great cos it meant I had a rental car for when I broke my ankle so it was easy to swap for an auto!!!

Yo
Having read your message,I just went for my first blatt after setting the timing to the correct setting since I got the car.
Awesome, straight up to 125 like a rocket but I was only on a two laner so thought better of trying for more.
I'm going to get my car on the dyno next week cos I bet I'm getting about 190bhp with this here Kent fast road cam that the previous owner kindly fitted, the only trouble was the car was running 5 degrees retarded so he never got the benefit.

Did a GPS verified 134 once early on in ownership, as has been said it was a little , as the front end lift was a little excessive and the steering on the vague side...

Surely it'll go a bit faster now you've fitted those rocket cans to the back
