Scotland or Bust ?
Discussion
Planning to head back up North to Chilly Jocko Land for a week's holiday on Fri. Question is, do I take the S or the motorwaymobile ?
Pros :
1)Need to drive through the Highlands to get to parents house - wahay!
2)It's a V8S
Cons :
1) Cost of fuel
2) It has been known to rain a fair bit up there
3) Noise could get a bit annoying on a v. long trip
4) Possible breakdown, miles from anywhere
5) Can't get the golf clubs in (yeah I know, but this is how males in my family bond!)
Do the pros outweigh the cons ? What do you think ?
Undecided.

I cant see any cons...
1) Cost of fuel..
Don't worry about the cost of fuel, as your return journey might be on the back of a flatbed, so they will be paying the fuel costs...
2) Rain ...?
Rain makes driving fun...
You will be able to see where all the leaks are, enabling you identify some winter trim work...
3) Noise ...?
Isn't that what you bought the car for?
I'm sure the locals won't mind.
4) Breakdown ...?
Everybody says that TVR's should be driven and this makes them more reliable...
TADTS...
5) Golf clubs ...?
No problem, buy yourself a pencil bag £10, lay the clubs in the bottom of the boot, the heads fit nicely in the side space (might be a bit tighter with the battery in the way)
GO FOR IT...

Seems obvious when you see it written down !
It was just the thought of getting there that was putting me off...visions of sitting in Bank Holiday traffic on the M6 with an unhappy, overheating Tiv was putting me off. But you're right....it will be worth it.
Thanks for snapping me out of it. S it is.
Cheers all.
p.s good tip on the clubs, never managed to get my roof & the clubs in at the same time...maybe I should get a Chim - or take up a proper sport ?

Jeez well think of me !
Im flying over on Saturday Morning, Im from Northern Ireland, but flying out of Dublin as it's the nearest airport to fly to Bournemouth.
This is to pick up a V8s !!!.
Unfortunately as mentioned it's in Bournemouth and to get it back to Northern Ireland Im having to drive to Cairnryan !(Other ports didn't work out, Fleetwood, Holyhead etc..), But timings were a bit tight for Saturday so Im catching the first boat on Sunday Morning back to NI.
So think of me, driving all that distance, in a car I don't know
(Not that Im expecting any probs!) Oh and I did a similar last year in Feb to pick up my S2 !!

If you are passing the village of Calander in Stirling shire on Sunday, pop into Scotland biggest Classic Car event. TVR Scotland Car Club has a large stand usually with 8 to 10 S series in attendance.
P.S. You have to take the V8, the roads up here a made for it.
I think there are 17 planning to go this year.

That would be worth seeing - I'll be in Aberdeen for most of that weekend visiting my brother so it will depend on whether he gets a pass from his missus.
If not, hope it goes well & the clouds stay away!
