Does anyone wear contact lenses and have the same problem as me?

I find my eyes get very dry when I have the roof off, fortunately I only ever have the roof down when the sun is out so i can wear sun glasses to help negate the effect.

Is this the same for anyone else, if so is there anything that you do to help the problem?

Try only having the roof off when it's raining then that will cure it.

Cheers, very helpful suggestion.

I'll give it a try. Perhaps we can go out in convoy with you in the lead?

I always suffer from very dry eyes after a roof-off trip without sunglasses, so I always carry some of those disposible eye drops in the glove compartment.

However when I took a Tiger for a test drive with no sunglasses it was awful, mind you the bit of glass that was supposed to be a windscreen was minimal!

I wear lenses (old age) but don`t suffer , my roof is off most of the time regardless of weather but its not my daily driver.
I always have the hood up at the back and the panels out this means less wind in the car , It might help?

I wear contacts but don't have any problems, mind you I wear sunglasses most of the time.

I did try with the hood at the back but when I drove to Manchester I returned a healthy 20mpg on an easy run!!!

i struggle with lenses in either car. With the roof down on the Tiv my eyes dry rapidly, shades are a must regardless of cloud cover. In the walnut warrior the air con dries them out too. So I generally stick with specs or prescription shades

Try WW1 goggles, they look fantastic with a scarf. It always worked well in a Lotus 7 for me.

You then just get the wind blowing in your mouth and cheeks flapping look usually associated with parachuting

God knows how Radical and similar owners cope without full-face helments? I've seen the effect of a stone-chip on a bald head (in a Tuscan) and its not pretty - wouldn't fancy a chip in the face

1) Check windscreen
2) realise there is no windscreen
3) replace windscreen

If you are worried about how you look around town then cycling glasses should be almost as good.

Wackaday!!!

Saw his "Incy Wincy Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" song on some top 100 worst ever songs recently - it was poor, but he had some cute backing singers in bikinis

And he used to be on with Michaela Straccen (think that's how it's spelt) who was rather cute too, saw her the other day tho and she has gone to seed a bit but not as much as John Craven, boy he looks old these days!

Did you have to mention that song. That will be going round and round for the next week in my head.

Try to focus on the backing singers visually, It'll help ease the pain.

Yeah but when we recall him looking younger, we were younger too...

He must have finished doing newsround 20 years ago now, I remember Kristan Guru Murphy (now C4 news) taking over from him...
