V6 air flow meters
Discussion
Can anyone tell me whether the top air flow meter actually does anything other measure temperature.
This is what I have heard that it does and only this apparently.
I'd have thought each meter provided a signal for each bank of cylinders but perhaps not as each meter may send a signal to the ECU and the ECU will control the air/fuel mixture ....won't it?
Ohh I don't know, getting confused more and more wit this.
Anyway, if I unplug the top one not much happens, the revs drop a little and then pick up again. If I unplug the bottom meter the car almost cuts out so that obviously does something significant.
Can someone with a V6S test this for me and let me know if the same happens to yours. The reason I ask is that I have replaced the lower unit which appears to make a big difference but the top one is still original and doesn't appear to do much.
As always, your help is very much appreciated!
Cheers,
