Thinking of getting a new hood from autohoods - wondering if anyone here had ordered either the 'Stayfast Mohair Cloth' or the 'German Sonenland Classic Mohair Cloth' and if so what the difference was between them?
Fitting - I've seen the DIY guide on pies' site but dont really fancy it - roughly how much will a trimmer charge to fit the new roof sections?

on the roof/hood subject - has anyone found a way to replace the tabs that will no doubt have broken off the targa sections?
I currently have just 6 of the 8 with full plastic surround and the other 2 are just the metal inner tag - do these come out or are the glued in to the fibreglass?

They are bonded into the fibreglass, you'll have to drill around them to remove them.
I plan to make some new ones out of durable acrylic (fibreglass them in again before re-covering the targa panels) but I think the lugs can still be obtained from TVR.
Just replaced mine with Stayfast Mohair.
I chose this as I was lead to believe that it looks better and retains its colour for longer. It does look very good.
The job of replacing was not that bad, just time consuming. I used EvoStik TimeBond glue available from Focus DIY which allows time for stretching and relocating.
The tabs are fibreglassed in but are not a problem to change while the covering is off. I ground out the fibreglass above them and relaid them into fresh glass. I did this with the panels fitted (and suitably weighted down) to ensure that the tabs were at the correct height and location.
While filling and sanding these new areas, I also smoothed many other uneven areas and lumps in the poor production of the panels.
The job looks good and spent the money I saved on some new wheels.

I went for the German Mohair as it didn't seem that much more expensive.
As for the tangs they are available but at the moment seem hard to track down. The factory has packed up all the spares into a big container ready to be sent off to whoever purchases them so they are not shipping any more out to dealers/specialists. I had to ring around several specialists and endedc up buying from several places to get hold of enough to redo mine.
