Anyone know what the door mirror glasses are from for an 89 S2 ?

Not the ones listed in the parts list or via the summit auto website as i checked those and they are shaped while mines are the simple oval type in the small black mirror body if that makes sense.

Iv'e seen it listed as from a Citroen CX but not sure which year model as the door mirrors varied. You could make a template (or take the car) to a Citroen dealer to try and check it out.

I think that'll be the later one as fitted to Chim and Griff which is the same as the Citroen CX. I'm not aware of any model of Citroen with a mirror the same as the earlier S cars, it's more Fiat Strada looking but I don't know what it was from, any ideas anyone?

The "Bible" (p258/259) does mention Citroen for the S1/S2 and the later S3 from a Ford Sierra. It goes on to say the V8S mirrors, S3c and S4 are Citroen CX25 or XM.
In other words almost anything goes - its a TVR thing !!

I fitted Audi TT mirrors to my S2, a bit of a fiddly job which took a fair while but much easier to see behind you with and they're electric and heated. They also fold forward and back if knocked against garage walls

But that's another story!

The mirrors look quite similar to 308 Ferrari and Lamborghini Countach ones!.I would also have a close look at some Peugeot 205 mirrors because I once saw an early one with what looked like an adjustable version of the S mirror (made by FAG, who I think also make bearings?)

Cheers

Can't fit new glass to the original S2 mirrors, you have to buy a complete new mirror. I bought one from a TVR dealer a couple of months ago, think it was £18 odd + vat. Apparently the factory had only got 5 left then, and will be unable to get anymore when they have gone.
