Guess who was spoilt this morning with lots of nice gifts, some of which were car/TVR related
TVR Pen
TVR Cerbera(solid metal keyfob thingy) lock de-icer gizmo widget, and shiny bits!
tax disc holder, gear knob and brake handle - woohooo!
I have reason to believe I'll be given a TVR watch later on today
and will be crowned The V8 King of Eastbourne tonight (Maybe not the last bit, I think Ive already done that myself
)
It really made me smile, I wasn't expecting anything car related other than the TVR watch (good seconda movement, I think, I hope it wont fall appart after the first 1000 hours) which I really wanted
Silicone stuff to stick into the gear knob to prevent it from vibrating... should I ask Halfords for anything in particular?

Many Happy Returns old chap, the insurance should be getting cheaper!
Silicone ...nip in to B&Q and grab some black silicone sealer but take care that you are buying the correct silicone based stuff as they now sell loads and you don't want anything that dries out or worse still an acrylic based gunk that never dries at all. Go for something that states that it is silicone.
Have a lovely day and fit the bits tomorrow!

Can anyone recommend the best make/brand of silicone to go for?
I think mine was called something like Cerafix??
I managed to get it in black.

Back to silicone stuff you said you used Kentish, was that the stuff which dried too fast, or too slow, or was it just right for the job? What do halfrauds sell that is best?
Not sure about drying to fast or slow as being the problem, it was more the type of sealer (it's base).
You need to buy one that says that it is "silicone" as many of the others are different although in the same type of application tube.
Silicone sets as rubber, you can even mould it to shape and that's why it is good to use on the gearknob as it absorbs the vibrations, similarly it is good to use as sealer around the bulkhead holes and other places where water may find a way inside, it's very flexible stuff.
