Help Handbrake cable!

Time for my s2`s annual MOT fail ! This time my handbrake cable was deemed to be `slightly streched`. Problem is, neither me nor the mechanic know what car the cable is from. Can anybody help?

I don't know what car it is off either but I suspect as the rear brakes are Sierra sourced it's a version of that.

However if you can get it off then these guys should be able to help. They may even have a pattern already.

If you can find a straight section of the inner cable where it isn't shrouded by the outer cable you could perhaps tie a knot in it. Crude but I have done it before (not on my S) and it worked.
