Thinking of putting a CD changer in the S... just curious where other people have mounted theirs?

Current thought is in the boot... somewhere...

Mine is in the boot, but I have an early S with a ski flap which is perfect as I can flip it down into the cockpit to change CDs etc. Even without the flap I reckon that if theres enough room at the top of the unit to eject the CD cartridge then it would be best to fix it to the panel between cabin and boot. (Driest area, not in way of roof panel storage space, least shaky part of the car etc)

I bought mine complete with CD changer behind the passenger seat, although 'mounted' would be something of an exaggeration - wedged would be closer to the mark!

However, I'd like to try and move the unit to the boot for the following reasons:

1. It encroaches a surprising amount on the available passenger knee room, particularly when getting in and out of the car, and leaves the seat a little bit too laid back.
2. The unit ends up at about a 70 degree angle which is not conducive to smooth running.
3. It's succeptible to any water that might get into the area behind/underneath the seat.
4. It's too easy to nick (particularly considering that it's not actually bolted in).

My preference would be to mount it on the 'shelf' in the boot behind the spare wheel, probably with a hefty bit of velcro. The main obstacle is determining where to take the wiring through.

Thats exactly where mine is mounted and by the same method, it's not flew off yet . The cabling follows under the carpet along the left sill area. It was installed when I got the car, so I can't really help on any installation tips.

Mine again mounted under the left-hand side of the boot, just under the fuel pipe, secured with a hefty bit of velro.

It's mounted behind the space-saver, so has no chance of moving, but even when I removed the space saver for a while all was OK.

Snap...The velcro works a treat.
