O.K., fitted new b/head bearing & top u.j. but still a bit wobbly at the steering wheel.....actual steering is improved but going over bumps causes the steering wheel to jerk sideways, not dangerous but annoying! There does seem to be a small amount of play on the bottom section (rod) between lower u.j. & rack. Rack is recent (12000 miles). Would appreciate any comments that might help & sorry can`t be more specific!!!! Cheers.

As the steering wheel is jerking sideways when you hit the bump, I would doubt that it's play in the linkage. Play would show up as more of a knock. Sounds more like bushes to me. Mine tended to want to go it's own way at times, but it's a lot better now I have new poly bushes in.
