Is it possible to remove the oil sender unit without draining the oil from the engine. It seems to me that the unit sits above the level of the oil in the sump but I thought I'd check before I trash the garage floor.

Just as an aside to make you laugh I got through my MOT this week at the second attempt, Hooray. Drove the car home from the garage, opened the garage door, went to drive it in and it refused to start. So now I have an MOT and it won't move..!!

How I laughed

RPage,

I changed my sender on a 2.9l, without removing the oil.

Cheers

As long as you don't have the engine running when you do it, then you can change the sender without any oil loss.
