Blimey Phil you've obviously got too much time on your hands, fancy coming round to give mine a clean all in the interest of seeing if this zymol works on a green S .
Car looks great btw .

Harry

PS if you have that much time why didn't you take the jaunt up for the Surrey run on Sunday, I'm afraid to say I let the side down a bit with 2 weeks of garage dust on the car, but then again I enjoyed the drive

Looks good indeed..

Was going to give mine a good Zymol today, but decided against it and spent the weekend bedding in the new brake pads.

See you've decided to drop the racing look.. Managed to get some new headlight surrounds myself too.. Now all I need to do is bolt on a few of the shiny bits currently taking up space on my dining table..

Looks superb, but it hasn't improved the parking any.

i wasnt up early enough mate. Friday, Saturday and Sunday getting hammered meant I paid the price yesterday morning and refused to rise until midday!

I shall be in Wickham Square for 10am on Saturday though. Are you coming along?

Was that the only thing you were bedding?

Yes, the taped headlights have now gone as I fabricated my own metal clips for the headlights rims and then drilled them onto the rim and got them back on the car. Bearing in mind what you have spent on shiny bits recently your car will be traded in at the jewellers rather than the dealership. Will be good to see it all fitted though - look forward to it.

Oh, and I would be interested here where J has found this "extra power".... never turn that down.

We may have to bear this in mind for the S photo shoots. I think we'll let you park first and then line up with yours, it may be easier that way.

As always mate, my preferance is for quality not quantity.. Suspect I'm on a hiding to nothing, but you never know.. Well, actually, I do, but no hope in trying. Well, there is, but...

Brakes now fully operational. Just as well, some idiot jumped out in front of me last night.

Extra power comes from adjusting the throttle cable so it is capable of opening the throttle fully. Previously running with maybe 90% throttle. Helps to have the car tuned too. Whatever, it is noticeable, but still not quite up with yours. Reckon the dent in the pipe is restricting the exhaust flow so sometime soon will be fixing that. Power at the wheels is good, (151 bhp), but still feels just a little flat. When the pipe is sorted I'll see what happens and let you know..

check out your text messages mate...

mmm, might have a play with the throttle cable cos i fitted a new one last year and only really adjusted it at the side of the road to get on my way again. mind you, it must be a fine balance to ensure that your revs arent increased at idle... would be difficult to know if the throttle arm is fully open at "pedal to the fibreglass" time (that doesnt quite have the same ring to it does it)

tuning sounds a fine idea. planning on getting her on a rolling road soon - going to have a word with a load of hants owners at a meeting this saturday to see if we can get a group of us interested.

very interested by your comments following a passenger ride in mine. pleasing to hear that mines performance is healthy. Still doesnt shake all building foundations like yours though Think you are right that once you get some new down pipes you should notice an improvement. Fair play to J for making a noticeable improvement through a little fettling over the week.

nothing but a good clean. Used Mer on them a little while back to get some stubborn bits of cack out but nothing since. I have 1 annoying wheel that the finish has gone the usual S way. The 3 others are top condition but not quite perfect. Cant really get 1 done perfect and then the other 3 95% and yet cant justify getting all 4 done when they are generally so good! Catch 22.

So i'll just ignore them..

Work phone is on ATM; got a few things to do.. Get back to you later..

Throttle cable adjustment isn't that tricky, but you need to make sure the travel on the arm is right else as you said all you'll do is increase the idle speed. It'll be in the bible I am sure but failing that I'll take a look under the bonnet and get back to you with anything that'll help..

That said, reckon yours is probably ok. Mine pulls well, but more slowly than yours, i.e. takes a while to kick in when I accelerate. Difficult to tell when driving one and being a passenger in the other, but still think yours is the better performing. Get them side by side on a track and see what happens. Let me get the dent in the pipe sorted first though as mine is hampered by that..

Saw the post for the saturday meeting but there is very strong case that I will be at work over the weekend . Besides I'm not sure if I can fit a cleaning time slot for the car in day light hours between now and then , will try to make it even if only for the drive then back to work again.
With that zymol stuff are you putting on top of a super resin base miight have to try that when I get time.

dont get all technical again with me Harry! I just gave the car a good clean and then applied Zymol and elbow grease all round.

Be good to see you saturday. IIRC we are heading up to Goodwood where there is a TVRCC trackday. Watching for a bit and heading back. Be nice if you could pop along, albeit briefly.
