The 'Wooden' Dash on my S3 is peeling badly. A company has offered to put a proper veneer front on it for me but I need to remove it and give it to them to work on. I have been able to remove the securing bolts at each end without too much trouble but can't get to the ones in the middle above the centre console. Does anyone know how to get to these?

Please help.

If you do find out how I'd be interested in the company that you are using as my dash has suddenly stared blistering and lifting all over. How much are you paying to have it recovered?

Not tried it myself but have been at the back of the center dials if that is the area you're after getting to . If so then its a matter of removing the center tunnel trim (two screws at the back) be carefull that you don't pull the stereo and switch wires off the center console . It should slide upwards and backwards enough to get in there. It's then a mater of head in the footwell and feet on the head rests time to look up behind the center dial area, assuming the bolts are there .

I think that I can get the ones over the centre consol but there is still one to the left of the speedo. Will let you know how I get on. The company is in Slough and have given a ball park figure of £350 for all the wood bits. If you still want company details let me know and I will pass them on. I got the number from Henley Heritage via Trimmania.

hi gav,
took mine off last year.best thing i found was a short 10mm spanner.the nut to the left of the heater can be accessed from the glove box,the one to the right is a pain.i got to it at an angle from under the steering wheel after first taking out the centre console and the pulling the dash gently forward. as usual they are nylon lock nuts an have to be turned with a spanner all the way.this takes ages so i replaced them with locking washers and standard nuts, should be easier to get off next time! hope this helps.
cheers.

Thanks for tha advice and support. Nice to know that someone else has done it Kev. The bolts from the veenered panel that I have got off so far are standard nuts over sprung washers. Do you mean that I should also undo the white nylon nuts and bolts that I have come across around the glove box to allow a large part of the dash to move slightly? Or should I just pull out the transmission tunnel?

yup, just pull it slightly to allow you to get your hand in.you should'nt have to remove any of the main dash nuts.
