Out riggers clean up
Discussion
Did this about a couple of months ago.Sorry for the delay but i wasn't sure anybody would be intrested.
Basically you're going to get dirty (not a job for models Podie
)
Tools i used to clean up were a screwdriver, hacksaw blade, various scraping instruments,emery cloth and a pipe cleaner pictured below.
The pipecleaner was a supurb tool it could be shaped over the pipe (near the cross bar)and worked along the pipe.It can also clear out all the rubbish accumilated behind the wheel arch,if like me you can't remove your wheel arch
then i run over it with some emery cloth,this wont be repeated for the second coat as it will just remove the waxoyl already there
Mask off the body work either side of the pipe work you can then use a brush to force the waxoyl etc right over the top.
These pics were taken today and as you can see all the stuff is still on.
The type of waxoyl used was "underbody seal" i only bought a small tin and probably have enough for a second coat
I'll the repeat the process sometime this week,you cant have enough waxoyl on your chassis
