Has anyone ever confirmed when the last S4 was built ? The "bible" indicates that there were very few built in 1994 but when I had the centre console out of mine recently, written underneath it was the date 20/9/94 # 1626 and it was signed by G Gill. Is there anyone at the factory that keeps this sort of information ?

Cheers

The bible is probably the most accurate... I think it notes the last one registered...

As for the factory... they're not really ones for heritage or records to be honest...

I thought that the last S4 was still owned by the factory, in P.W. collection.

The last S4 was sitting in the factory yard when I went up there for this year's "Back Home".

I think there is a picture of it in the Bible.

The last S4 made was reg no M518 RCW and was owned by TVRbut it was sold in 1997 for £10K.

The S series was removed from the price list in Aug 1994 so your car cant be far from the last ones made!!

TVR bought it back a couple of years ago.

i saw the car only a month or so ago, its in a sorry state. Hoods ripped, leaking water all over the rotting carpets, the veneer has lifted from the dash, the boot lid needs painting and there are various scratces all over, its a real shame cos it would make a beautiful car. I have been told that the factory are going to restore the car to its former glory very soon, i hope so !!!

That is a great shame , one of only 34 S4's made .

People will be ripping the engines out next and sticking 'funny' engines in the them whilst reverting to a carlos fandango bonnet scoop next , but by f&&k it is fast .

How can it be a scoop when it is facing backwards ? It must be a sucker ! (something to do with ground effects !)

Danz don't worry too much about this it is squarely aimed, with tongue firmly in cheek, at a S4 I/we know that has had this done, along with a few engine mods .

The last S4 was Vickies, who only made it out of the car park before handing it back.

It was used as a courtsey car for a while then was sat out with the White Elephant for the past few years.

When I was home 2 weekends back it had been moved inside again. I think the plan is to do it up again.

BTW both cars are mine so hands off

Both , does this now mean the factory are going to preserve some of the models for historical puposes or is it they have a buyer for it .
Either way please it is in, out from the cold and rain , I think the S4 is probably the best looking S, given it has the nicest bonnet, shame it didn't have a V8 though .

The holden is still outside but I have covered it over. I am restoring it a bit at a time.

The S4 will be sorted at some point but then be up for sale.

Both to me.

I sincerely hope it is restored and sold to a careful owner . The S4 is quite rare even by TVR standards, I hope it comes out better than new and original.
On top of the one thats had a scoop fitted there's another one thats a mobile advert, very tacky me thinks, no taste some people .

Harry

I think I know the one you are referring to (at least it has still got the correct # of cylinders) . The more S4's modified the better ! It just makes the "original" ones more rare.

Not true. Mum has run the warranty/archives since '84ish and they are all still there.
