Paint Codes

Where do you find the paint code on a V8S - thought mine was storm grey, but not sure, and not sure what manufacturer made storm grey? I would like to buy some touch up paint ...

Is it not in the front of the owners manual

You would think so Pies but in the owners handbook for my V8S (which is actually an S3 handbook!) it states the paint colour but the space for the code is blank! However,to answer the original question the paint code is the second part of the body code which can be found on the metal VIN No. plate which on my car is on the nearside inner wing ledge under the bonnet, adjacent to the air flow meter. The "bible" devotes half a page or so to this topic I recall and urges caution when matching the paint notwithstanding the code given.
