Tunnel and Dash
Discussion
I am (finally) getting round to fitting my carpets this weekend - I note from the bible (and a cursory glance at the tunnel) that this is a one piece unit with the Dash on my S2.
I am slightly wary of unhooking the dash fully - will the tunnel be able to be lifted sufficiently to carpet underneath without fully removing it (and thus the dsh too) from the car?

Hi Tim
Removing the tunnel was pretty easy on my S3. Just remove the two screws at the rear, lift up and pull towards you (no nob gags) I didn't remove it fully as I would have to disconnect all the switches. With the tunnel lifted you have access to almost all the carpeted areas.
Hope this helps.

Have you a bought a carpet set measured to fit, or have you bought a roll of carpet and doing it yourself?
What colour are your carpets, same as the originals? I have a BRG S3 and if I can match the carpet (pale green) will only need to do the drivers side. Yours might be the same colour.

hi tim, was looking for a carpet set myself soon, did you get them from a dealer or are you making them up?
cheers
Kev - just made it up.
as you see from my other post though it took
ages and i can barely type cos my fingers are so sore.... I planned to remove the sections and use tham as templates but the footwells had rotted so I had to remove them in about 50,000 seperate pieces....
had to cut a few corners but the result is good
