Head Unit Wiring
Discussion
I've just purchase a shiny new Pioneer unit to replace the existing one, and all looked rosy until I had the current head unit and and all the cables disconnected.
The unit fitted before was another Pioneer, but has a 12 pin inline socket, rather than the 16 pin dual socket that the new unit has.
Looking into the head unit recess show that there is no ISO connector, but there is one hell of a mess in there; chocolate blocks, bullet connectors, soldering and good old twist joins (thankfully covered in tape).
Looks like I'll have to rip out the current Pioneer connector and fit a new ISO block from Halfords but I was wondering if anyone has seen Pioneer adapters or has had a cunning plan when doing this before?

Hmmm, just wonder whether I should take it to a specialist, as I do have a rather tasty Alpine 5 channel amp, Infinit Kappa 10" bass speaker, 6x9s and four sets of component speakers sitting in the growing "can't be arsed" pile of the garage.
Could get all of it installed, and maybe rip out the wiring and sort out some soundproofing also...

What car is the ISO block from as mine looks a right mess
Otherwise I'd imagine the kit would be Ford, as I think the loom is IIRC. The guys who supplied my unit said some TVRs have ISOs and some dont't.
I now know why the previous owner hacked the wiring to bits behind the head unit after many ours peering into the cavity.
There
all space inside there for the ISO plug behind a Pioneer unit.
So currently the unit is sitting just less than 10mm proud while I formulate a cunning plan...
But, with the Infinity speakers it sounds damn good though, just got to fit the amp an extra speakers now...
