Hi, I'm just about to buy a s3.
It is the only decent tvr S, I found for sale in Holland. One disadvantage comparing to the S3c is the missing catalysed version of the 2.9 L motor.
This motor has an increased torque compared to the S3.
Does anyone know if there is a simple way to tune my future motor from 172 to 191 lb/ft????

Bit of an enigma that one, apart from the cats it also does away with the twin flapper bodies on the induction and uses a air mass sensor instead .
I can only guess that it is the free flowing intake that gives it the extra torque . Saying that a few I've heard of that have had there 2.9 put on a rolling road have made slightly better than 'what it said on the tin', which for a TVR is something IMHO .

How much would this cost? I'm considering getting one, and slowly refurbing it.

Seek out 'gbgaffers' profile in the mebers listing and give him an email, he may tell you. Be advised I don't think it comes cheap, remember he did start with an S4 so already had a beefier chassis, wider track and discs all round, in fact it has the V8S chassis .

graham will tell you himself. Not a cheap option. especially if you go for a "slightly modified" cossie engine

Graham has said to me, its not a cheap option. You have to love the car to do the conversion. Its a complicated procedure full of hassles as Graham will tell you. Not to be taken on by those who may get frustrated. I know what i am like (n impatient bar steward) so I bought a V8.
