Well the old girl has gone in to David Batty's for an MOT... and I'll pick her up when I get back from Austria...

Well, good news, the right honourable David Batty phoned me today to say that the old girl had passed..

.. so to celebrate (my birthday) she's having a de-cat and a stainless steel exhaust..

Can't wait to get back!

Pleased for you! David B is a top man isn't he? Always deals with me with politeness and honesty - which is so rare these days. Only problem is, word has got around and he's soooooo busy.

BTW: If anyone needs a new hood David arranged for mine to be done - good price - excellent job! Result = dry inside regardless of weather.....

Well I travel the best part of 60 miles to leave my car with him.

I find him honest, forthright and to be honest a decent bloke. IMHO his prices are good, and although he's busy, I do work around it and "book in" around 2 months before.

Every job the man has done for me is top notch, always done on time, and he's happy to make recommendations and suggestions where appropriate. Assuming a suitable catagory is available for the BTaP awards, I will be casting my vote in his direction.

I have booked my S3 into David Batty for the end of October... I mentioned to him that us PHers were talking about him both in recommendation and the fact that he is very busy...

His reply - He has someone working for him who is equally able and we should not be concerned with the fact he is busy. Tvr servicing is very much a seasonal thing, every Tom Dick wants their car ready for spring, Le Mans, Europe excursion, pre winter etc so there will be times that he will be full.

Podie..
Have you had the full service treatment with the MOT??

Mines going to David on Saturday for MOT and door adjustment 'cos I ballsed it up when I tried to do it myself. Drop it off on the way to hols, pick it up on the way back.

Glad he's getting all this positive feedback.

Bridgdav, no service this time round.. had a biggie in the summer. Best check my profile mate to see the work he's done.

Got a few bits to update when I have time though... but you'll get the idea. Very happy with the service he did on the car... turned the key - it even sounded happier... and has been a lot better to drive since.

Car went in for MOT and waxoyl this time round.

Thats good to hear. I have saved his number from other recommendations I have read for when I (eventually) get my S.

My old escort (was for sale for £350) just went in for an MOT.

+£200!
BUGGER.

Its now gone up for sale for £550!
