1st 'TVR' rage incident
Discussion
Was travelling down a long straight dual carriageway near my home. Lorry in left lane doing 20mph. BMW in right lane looks at me then slows to 20mph in the outside lane to block me. All the way down this road I'm blocked from overtaking.
As the small roundabout at the end approaches, the BMW falls back forcing me further back, then goes into the inner lane. He than matches my speed (15mph to about 45mph) as I try to filter in too blocking me from moving, until I have no option but to break sharply to avoid going straight over the roundabout. At this point my wheels lock and I skid slightly onto the roundabout, while I regain control (pump those breaks!).
I see him grinning as off he goes.
All because he didn't want to be overtaken. If I had known he was mad I'd have stayed well back.
The S performed well though. Slight wheel lock but easy to recover from and in a nice straight line!

I'm annoyed with myself to be honest. If I had read his intentions earlier I could have avoided the potentially dangerous situation I ended up in. I'm sure if there had been an accident it would have been said to be my fault.
Only mentioned the make of car to give a full story, nothing against BMW's or their drivers, other than there are a far too many about so they seem rather dull

don't know about you guys but I find that cars come right up my tail(when on M1) them swiftly pull out, as if to say - "see I can over take a TVR even in my 1987 rust bucket fiat panda". I even had one guy shout abuse at some traffic lights in MK, about what a crap kit car I was driving, and get a real one. He was driving a ford jelly mould car, need I say more.
Never have a battle of wits with an unarmed man ...
If you drive a tiv long enough you'll get this happen to you. Wildfire is spot on, the best tactic is not to engage them at all, they always have less to lose than you and they know it.

Remember turning the other cheek while driving my cerbera, with a Vauxhall Vectra who was stuck on my back bumper, pushing all the time. I had decided it wouldn't prove anything by blowing him away and let him go past.Turned out to be a good call as further down the road he had pulled a motorbike,to my disgust the vectra was an unmarked police car.

Result!.... but WTF was a police car doing sitting on your bumper anyway? (Is this where I'm told I'm naive?) Let alone the 'unsafe prosecution' if you had gunned it, the
should have known better. [cynic] "We daren't put in any more scameras with the unfavourable press boys, so I want you to go and tailgate a few high performance cars - any that try to show you who's boss: nick 'em. We'll deny the intimidation bit - don't worry, the judge isn't going to take the word of a petrolhead over the sworn oath of the local constabulary" [/cynic]

Sorry to say but I agree with you, most of the idiots I have faced have been BMW's...in my experience! but as people say (which I have not experienced prior to owning TVR's) is that there is clearly something about having to pass a TVR whatever speed your going at...I have even had guys with cars full of kids sitting on my bumper and matching my speed when I dry and pull away to create a safe distance...because they wanted to see the car...how stupid is that!!!
I now don't rise to it and pull over, but if you can't pull over anymore (ie inside lane) what do you do!
Alan.
driving sedately (inside the lose it for it a while figure) home last night down a130 and got some pillock in an evo all over the tail. Done the right thing pulled over and let him past. b*ggered if by the time i get home haven't got two txt msgs giving me grief for being a pansy (one of which from a bib m8).
Anyway, question for the board, is there an honour thing here? Next time should i blow the pr*ck away or continue to do the right thing? Not sure i can suffer the txt bit, how would that defend m'lord?

exactly...
just think of this, before you stoop to their tarmac level
"you dont have to prove anything in a TVR"
"who would beleive them; that they raced and beat a Tiv"
and finally
"Eagles don't chase flies"
IMHO
