Hi all,

2 quick questions.....

Is it easy to change my leaking sump without taking the engine out? (S2, cross member crosses half-way across the sump)

Is the front suspension (wishbones and the like) from another car or is it another out-of-production TVR special?

Whereabouts is the sump leaking - is it a split sump or is it the crankshaft front oil seal? Front oil seal is relatively easy to replace in situ and the oil seal is about £9 from Ford. Not sure about removing the sump itself.

Front suspension - wishbones are TVR specials the hub is Ford Sierra I believe and the ball joints are SAAB 900 (top) and Lada 1200 (bottom) as per the parts list.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Chris

The sump is leaking through a rusty patch on the side. I've managed to patch it with fuel tank repairer and some glass fibre!!! but I really need to sort it properly and I guess the engine will need to come out.

Thanks for the info on the suspension. More expense then.......

Make sure that the replacement ball joints are exactly the right shape/size as the originals as both SAAB and LADA have changed those parts and some fit... some do not.
