Does anyone know whether its possible to remove the dash of a S3/V8S so its still possible to drive??? I need to take the car to the trimmers and he needs me to remove the dash, so if possible I would like to take it out at home and drive it down. Is this possible, I would think not...so advise would be appreciated from those that have removed dash!

Many thanks

Mike

I've taken the dash out of my S1 the only requirement was to put the Speedo back so that it could start. I taped this to the steering rack and managed to drive it to the garage. Alternately burrow someone else car and put the dash in the back of that!

If you by 'removing dash' on the S3 mean the veneered strip - yes,you can drive the car with this removed from the car.I took off the veneered strip on my S3C in order to reveneer it and also to get rid of the ugly heater control unit. Amongst other things this involved loosening on of the steering column main bolts. As long as the two bolts are re-fitted you can drive the car.
