You know it's got you bad when in mid January you just have to fire up the S3 and go for a blast - just because the sun shines for a few minutes.
Well today I had a few hours to spare and just couldn't resist it. Boy was that fun and a great way to get rid of the winter blues. The stupid grin returned within seconds of the engine turning over and no doubt will take a couple of weeks to go again.
Luckily I got back home half an hour before a huge dump of snow arrived - close thing.
Go on - you know you want to.......

I feel sorry for you guys in the middle of winter. It is summer here and we have had some great TVR weather. I went on a "classic run" last Sunday and did 422 miles. Had a bit of trouble with the starter (loose connection on the solenoid). The weather was warm and we headed into the dryest part of New Zealand (Central Otago) which is having a drought. Of course it rained while we were there but we only had the roof up when we stopped for a meal. We had great roads and the law was not to be seen, but some of the others were motoring a little slowly for me. The best windy roads were spent looking for places to pass but it was still fun.

Ahem!
Some of us have to take the Tiv out in all weather, Just spare a thought for thoes of us who get wheel spn up to 3rd and freeze their fingers off trying to get their cover off.
Here Here, I spent an hour getting home last night through a blizzard, icy roads and debris from trees etc, followed by a convoy of numpties in 4x4's at 20mph
. Swanned into work at 10am this morning with the roof off though... Lovelys1.5f said:Ah, I spent 2h 40m getting home last night (normally 40mins) and got wheelspin in 4th on the A4! Do I win the prize?

Amateurs!
The problem is that we don't get enough of the stuff to have any practice at dealing with it.
And it's too busy round this area to even be able to enjoy driving in the small amount we do get!
Oh well.

Don't knock us Brits too hard for our general inability to drive well on snow - if we were from one of the Scandinavian countrys, where obviously there is plenty of snow, I believe its the law that you MUST have two sets of tyres (Summer and Winter) and as soon as snow comes you HAVE to change to your snow tyres otherwise you face a hefty fine, anyone having driven with snow tyres on will appreciate the difference IMHO. For the generally infrequent drops of snow we get although it can cause chaos its probably not a practical solution.
The truth be known. I’m not making fun of you and if it makes you feel any better, the people here can’t drive in the snow either. We get a lot of practice and still the Auto body shop guys, just get richer.
I to should move to a warmer climate, but like most of you likely. I love my country and with it comes 3 Months of cold weather. You get what you get.
