Changing Washer system.............?
Discussion
A recent post mentioned the spray bar system, as used on the later TVR models. I have just bought a pair, has anyone changed over the washer system to this type?? I need to know how to access the washer tube, do I just break the existing washer nipple and pull the tube through or is there a way of accessing the system from underneath, as there doesnt seem to be!!!
Much appreciated!

No Problem, I am going to try to do it this weekend and I will take photos. Might be a good idea to send them to Pies and he can post them on his website! I have also just bought some Cerbera seats that I am going to fit, so might take some photos of how to fit them too!!!

Excellent

I wouldn't mind doing both. Mainly the spray bar, but seats could be fun.

), so a nut splitter would be a good investment. The other thing that makes removal fiddly is that you can't get a socket on the heads of the rear bolts as they're sat in the grooves of the seat runners. I guess the big question is how the spacing of the securing bolts on the Cerbie seats compares to the spacing on the S seats; could be a bit of drill'n'fill required!

Been there done that!
I did mine a while ago so can't remember where I got the bits, probably Halfords. You need:
Washer tube, spray bars with clips, small cable ties, tee piece and a pair of bulkhead outlet adaptors (these clip into the bulkhead and have an outlet at 90° - if somebody knows how to post I have one here) and sticky back plastic!
I drilled a new hole next to the drivers side wiper for the outlet. I fed tube through the bulkhead and behind the heater etc using various methods of contortion learnt with years of car maintenance (and a coat hanger). I removed the main washer and fed tube through the hole, the original tube (from the pump) and the two new tubes were connected and pushed up behind the bulkhead. The pipes were cut and the two bulkhead thingamabobs fitted. The spray bar tubes are fitted, they came with black flexible rubber tube which was pushed onto the bulkhead thingamys. The cable ties were used to tie the pipe to the wiper arm. Sit back and enjoy a bear whilst chewing on the sticky backed plastic!
Have fun. Steve.

On mine the spray bar feed doesn't go through the bulkhead at all. It's a simple pipe from the washer bottle (behind the NSF wheel arch) behind the engine and up to a T piece between the two wipers. Dead easy to fit and no messy holes through bodywork.
Your Washer bottle sounds like its where it should be? mine is located in the boot next to the battery! so the wires either have to be taken through the existing hole where the nipple thing is or new holes like Steve describes....!

If you don't mind Mike, I`d like to use the piccys on the West Yorks TVRCC web site too!
Roy.
Of course, no problem! Lets see if I can do it first!!!
Mike
Looking forward to this, after my nipple issue a few weeks back some pics would be a help. Presume V8S washer in boot, others in engine bay?
