Hi all,

Does anybody have an idea from what car the V8s weel bolts are?! Tried a bolt from a Sierra but it isn´t the correct one. There is similar one from a transit...

Not sure what car they came from originally but I recently bought some Stainless Steel wheel nuts from JFS Precision which are excellent.

I´m looking for the bolts...
they´re not missing - they´ve been shortened because of spoke weels.
I want to change them against the original lenght to mount other weels.

Yup, I can see why you would want to change those wheels!

I can't say as I have had a good look, but chances are they are not bolts. Typically most cars with wheel nuts have studs that screw into the hub. That may help when asking Ford for the parts.

(of course I could be wrong, so no law suits please)

Wow - you remember the "Alien S"!!!

I took an existing bolt and went to Ford.
They had nothing similar unless the Transit bolts.
Theese bolts look similar but they´re a very long
and the first section without the thread ist 5mm
longer than on the ones I have...
I´ll measure tomorrow if they fit!
Maybe I´ll quite simly install spacers (or distance plates???)...

By the way - Does somebody know a dealer in the
area of Edingburgh? I plan a short trip to there and
maybe I can take some parts along...
I plan to replace my manifolds and they´re very expencive in Germany - Maybe also in the U.K.
Can someone give me a feeling for spare prices in the U.K.?

Thanks a lot!

Indeed Peter, how could I forget the mreciless ribbing we gave you over the fact that you had a car with round rear lights, wire wheels, and a luggage rack that you thought was a V8S.... oh how we ate our words when you sent us the pictures..

It was a while ago now wasn't it... where have you been lately..?

Cheers
Matt.

Matt,

in fact it´s a wile ago now...
I have been reading in the forum a lot but my English and my knowledge isn´t good enough to answer the messages.
Also it was a perfect summer in Germany last year so that I drove a lot with my "alien S".
Now it hibernates at the moment but the season starts soon and I´ve got somethings to do on it.
One of the things is trying the other weels. But would I have known what trouble it is I wouldn´t do it...

Ich denke, daß dein Englisch vermutlich besser als unser Deutscher ist!
