been like this for a while now - from idle (900rpm) any quick jab on the throttle is met with a drop to 700rpm before picking up.

only takes about half a second but is annoying as it means pulling away smoothly requires holding the revs at 1200 or so to prevent this happening.

In short - it feels like the throttle is connected to the pedal with a rubber band.

Accelleration from 1500 up is fine though...

(NB - new throttle pot fitted 4 months ago...)

any idea?

Sounds like it is bogging down a bit, if you have replaced the pot then maybe this has changed the mixture. How does it feel once it gets going, if there is a lack of power throughout the range, it may be a timing issue. Sometimes an engine bogs down if there is not enough advance. Have a look at your plugs they should give you an idea of the mixture. If they are really sooty then chances are you are either too fuel rich, or not running advanced enough.

Hope that helps,

Z
