I need to get a replacement speedo - or get mine fixed. I would prefer to get a replacement if possible. I remember one selling on ebay a couple of months ago, and like a plonker I forgot to bid.

Anyone got a spare they want to sell? Know where to get one? Got any suggestions? It's actually the Odometer that has stopped...is this a simple repair?

I have a similar problem - only the whole thing has stopped working on mine. No speed and no miles! It's a 1990 S2, and appears not to have a cable. What now - is there a speedo sender unit that will fix it or is it a new speedo job??

There is a speed sensor on the left hand side of the gearbox, it can be accessed with difficuty by removing the gear lever gator and rubber boot, or possibly easier from below but exhaust may have to be dropped.

Mine does that. The mechanism turns the odometer wheels with a very small amount of force, so if they dry out a bit, it is then unable to turn the 3 wheels at once. If you take the speedo back off, applying a very tiny amount of light oil (WD40) to the mechanism will get it working again.

Often the no reading problems are caused by a dodgy connection in the connector next to the gearbox sender.
