I am giving the S2 the full beauty treatment - re-trim and new carpets, re-connollising the seats, probably a full body respray and various other tweaks. I will document with photos for later uploading. However, I am wondering about fitting a silver alloy grill to the front radiator inlet (maybe even to the bonnet air intake as well - has anyone done this or what do you think? Nice? Naff?

I reckon if you used a decent quality mesh in a fairly dark silver that could look quite good.

It's always difficult to picture these things properly though!

I came within inches of starting thaat last weekend with some alloy coloured touch up paint.

I stood back, squinted and coudl only see those kids with fake inlets and shiny mesh.

If you take the punge, get some photos up, I coudl be easily convinced.

Did they Podie? Any info or pics at all? I really can't manke up my mind whether it'll look like some Max Power dysfunctional has had a go at it...or quite cool. My S2 is Cooper Green Metallic if that helps anyone picture it. It has or is getting some ally interior trim, a wooden dash and creme leather seats...

I remember that S but dont remember whose it was. The 'vette style rear was done using Elise lights.
Looks great IMO

It's owned by V8esser (as suggested earlier in the thread)... it's known as the "Corvette S"...

It's worth bearing in mind that the S2 front end looks nothing like the V8, particularly the lower scoop. The grilles are also set further back and so may only be fully appreciated by drunks lying in the gutter or those who are about to be run over.

Sorry, speed reading threads whilst at work means I occasionally miss the important bits!

I love the moulded bumpers on that car. It looks even better in the plastic.

I may have to do that to mine at some point.

I think that "bumpers" might be a slight misnomer!

Don't know what it is, but its got a definite Tuscan look to it. Bodywork mods don't normally appeal to me but this definitely works. Is it the same car that seemed to live down at Tower View a while back?

Seem to remember reading v8esser's write-up on doing the gille mesh. Sounds a lot more involved than I though, as the existing mesh is actually 'laminated' into the fibreglass bonnet material.

The thread was very recent....

I think he summised it by saying that the process he went through was rather long and there is a much quicker route to replacing the grille....

Cutting out IIRC rather than removing all the grille and re-laminating in the new mesh...

To add here it is....
