Parked outside a hairdressers last night, came back to a note on the windscreen.

The note, written by one of the hairdressers, states the car reg of the car that was parked in front of me, who reversed into the front of my car.

Result: chipped o/s indicator lens and 7 chinks out of the bonnet - fibre glass visible. Each chink is about 2-3mm long and 1-2mm high.

Question remains, should I report this to my insurance? The chinks are pretty noticable from about 10 feet away!

Get a quote for the repairs. If they reversed into it then it should come out of their insurance, not yours.

And as it was on the public highway (?) isn't it 10 points for them for leaving them scene of an accident too

Edited to add, I'd report it.

Cheers,
Matt

If you've got a witness and the registration of the offending car, I'd pass the details onto your insurance and let them chase the other driver down. I'd just double check the witness first though!

I'm assuming the other driver didn't leave a note , or was the hairdresser just a messenger?

Am I right in thinking that the note was left by a hairdresser who saw the car back into yours? If so then report it to your insurance, they'll chase them for you. Also report it to the police and get a full statement fron the hairdresser too.

Sure was the Hairdresser who wrote the note. He also came out to tell me when I got back to my car. Which was nice of him! I'll get his details tonight and let my insurance know.

Thanks chaps!
