Decatting?

I have just bought my first TVR an S3C. Very excited! Although I will not get to her until June when I return from Dubai. She is on the quiet side and I have scanned members notes on decatting. However I am still unsure of all the total gains. The car has a stainless system which I noted is lagged. Could someone who has decatted their S provide me with some insight into the pros and cons. It would be much appreciated. On a note I am aware of three TVRs in Dubai. All of which are Chimaera's. Maybe there will be an S here soon. If the cooling system can handle 50 degree heat!

Cat replacement pipes vary from £50-£80 each in Stainless Steal (mine were sourced from ACT) whereas replacement cats are more expensive.

The car is definately a lot louder than it was with the cats in, and the throttle response certainly felt better once they had been removed... however if the cats had 12 years of cr*p in them, it's hardly surprising is it...?

Cats are required for vehicles registered 1st August 1992 onwards.

Muttnuts its not as good as your Jucy stainless steel sports exhaust. Remember Lisbon!
