Can anyone point me in the direction of a good mechanic in the Bristol area? I'm keen to avoid Williams because of the cost, but need someone who's familiar with the old V6, and might be able to sort out my S3's cold running problem.

There is a good indie chap in Cardiff....

My S3 was taken for servicing there by the previous owner...

He advertises in Sprint IIRC.

Peninsula are a blat down the M5 in Exeter heard nothing but good about them. I haven't used anyone local yet so let me know if you have any joy! Might be worth repeating this thread in General TVR few other Bris owners on there.

Are Peninsula actually in Exeter, I thought they were on the road to Beer.. (which is a happy coincidence ) ..if they are in Exeter then there's an Indie Garage with a Dozen TVRs at least on the forecourt that I know of elsewhere.
Cheers,
Matt

For anyone based in Bristol, Peninsula recommended Keith at Lodway Service Station, Pill (just over the suspension bridge, on the way to the motorway). Had a chat with him, and he seems to know his stuff. Booked in for next week. Watch this space...

Hi Simon,

Brakes are currently rubbish, mainly down to bad warping of the discs. This I feel was made worse by the covers behind the wheels to stop brake dust.

So I went for braided hoses alround, with grooved and cross drilled discs with uprated pads.

Hows your car?

Christian.

Got the insurance cheque through this week only 5 months to sort out!! Going to see Jason at Webbs next week to get it booked-in, and Paul at Austec is getting me a new ECU and springs... could do with a break on the spending now though
