The front flexible hose unions (chassis end) are near the steering rack ie. the front leg(s) of the wishbones.
These are connected to link pipes at the bearing carrier and again in flexis to the caliper.
Probably just the same as a Sierra but I haven't looked.
I was going to simplify the assembly by replacing the three parts with a 500mm flexi on either side, others have done this.
It looks possible to use a 300mm hose if the chassis mount was part way between the rear wishbone leg and the damper mounts. This involves a substantially shorter and tidier run of pipe from the master cylinder.
The hose doesn't foul at either end of the suspension or steering travel and is away from manifold heat.
Apart from "why would anyone bother to do that" are there any reasons why brake hoses have to be forward of the wheel center?
If there are principals of brake design that forbid this I'd rather find out now.
Thanks for reading, comments welcome, even if - you need to get out more..

Not as I can think of, once you press that pedal there's enough pressure to send the brake fluid any route you choose!

As you're well aware, there needs to be enough slack to allow for full steering and suspension movement.

Nice job Alan, but it all looks a bit too clean & lovely to me. Have you been buffing it with the old white brasso? wink
Your hose routing looks good, is there full & free movement, but consider: will it flail about & cause chafing?
I reckon if it saves.50 big ones, AutoAndy will be on it pretty baity quickly. biggrin

By the way, be careful, there's a loose nut on your garage floor.
