Just tried to add mine to the list as no. 132. The preview panel shows my addition OK, but the actual wiki text stops half way through the previous entry (131): looks like the spreadsheet isn't big enough. Can anybody put it right (or tell me how to!)? Thanks.

I had a look and the preview looked OK, but then after submitting the update your line #132 was gone.
Maybe you could try adding your info to the S2 list, in the middle of the table, since you're not sure which type you have. S?.

AFMs = S3
Lambda sensors = S3C

Simples! smile

..if that's a genuine question then check the manifolds - c ones are shorter to allow the"c"ats down the front..probably replaced with pipes now...pls the c did not need the big old lumps of metal on the end of the air inlet pipes behind the air filter...

Will you stop showing off your masterful grasp of technical terminology wink

Thanks, guys. Here we go:

It doesn't have MAF's
It has long downpipes, no cat replacement pipes, with official-looking bosses for the lambdas. The wiring from the lambdas to the bulkhead looks amateurish.
The ECU is a lambda-compatible type, and the wiring to it does not look modified (well, any more modified than any other picture I've seen).
There is a MAP on the bulkhead, properly connected to the loom.
The engine number doesn't look like anything Ford ever put on, so it's presumably a remanufacture.

So what it is, is a bitza. And none the worse for that. But did it start its life as a 3 or 3C? Who can tell? Further guidance very gratefully accepted.

I would say that the sensors mean it started life as a cat car, but those manifolds look like the longer pre-cat ones that someone has added the sensors to (explains their wiring) - In principal it makes a better solution for de-catting that keeping the cat manifolds and adding pipes to replace the cats, because now you can use the std "hockey sticks" = (bent bits that take the pipes round the corner to the main exhaust section)

Pic may help showing the traditional differences:
