Hi All.
How close is your door seal to the side of the body, I have the seal against the frame up each side of the windscreen but when it goes over above the windscreen it is in and out with a gap of 13mm max , don't know if it should touch the body over the windscreen,

HI Alan,

I've been fiddling around, trying to sort a water leak or two on my car and just this morning a six metre length of door seal arrived. Off to work now but it's "tomorrows job" so I'll let you know, providing rain doesn't stop play smile

Without looking a gap along the top does sound right.

Hi Mike
The fiberglass edge the trim fits is 12mm and in some places is 27mm, like a dogs back leg, will you put a picture up of the top after the new seal, please.

Hi Alan,

On my S3 it is different, but my door seal looks different as well. I bought it from David Gerald some years ago. Make sure you have the correct section door seal.

My V8S is the same as Han's. I think the idea is any water runs along the channel at the top and down the sides so hence the gap.

These are pictures of the original seal before I removed it...............

HTH smile

PS tapping the new seal is one of those strangely satisfying jobs, but getting the tight bends at the ends is fun! biggrin
