Broken down with clutch problem....At least at the end of my road!
Discussion
Hi All
I took the cover off the S3 this afternoon for a quick check to see if all was well after the winter lay up. After a quick jump start I was away for a quick blast on the motorway..... no problem. I pulled over at the end of my road as the bonnet was rattling and made a small adjustment...all was good
I got back in the car depressed the clutch and it felt like fresh air...nothing! I engaged first gear and lifted the clutch....still nothing!
I can't hear the usual clunk as the gear is engaged and the car just revs with no movement at all. Im thinking it could be an actuator problem but not sure how to check it out at the roadside. Any one else out there ever had these problems?
Cheers Mark

Seems like Clutch issues are a common thread tonight, they often go after a layup period. Surprised you were able to engage 1st though. Damian's comment applicable here too - if your peddle has no resistance or is just loose on the floor, slave cylinder has more than likely failed. Pretty easy fix, about 20min job after jacking the car up including grinding new one down to fit the bracket if you have a spare mate to help with bleeding it.
