Hi, took my S3 out for a test run after sorting out the dashboard. All seems ok,but the passenger mirror glass shakes so much I can barely use it. Is it a case of carefully pulling it off or do I need to take the door card off and dismantle the mirror? The actual mirror cover is fine.scratchchin

Thanks

Have you got the ribbed CX mirrors? If so...

I recently knocked by passenger door mirror off on the garage door frame while reversing out, breaking the paper-thin alloy three-pronged casting inside the pivot assembly (Doh!) so I know you won't be able to access it from inside the door - unless you take the glass frame out so that you can get a torq socket drive throgh the small hole and up the shaft at the base of the mirror unit (very doubtful).

If you slide the black plastic tube thing between the mirror and door up into the mirror a bit, you should just see a grub screw holding the weak alloy mounting collar to the door moulding. This may just need tightening to stop it all wobbling - or it may be the mirror pivot torq higher up is lose, in which case, take the mounting collar completely off the door by undoing that grub screw to get at it.

Sorry, but it's not easy to describe. Good luck.

It's not easy to do either! Give yourself a good couple of hours if you've not done it before. Good luck.

It could be the mirror glass itself coming loose from the base it is glued on. I had this myself and used a professional 3M double side tape. Watch out for the heating element wires/connectors. All ok since many years.

Thanks for your advice. All sorted now. I double sided both mirror glasses and tightened the off side mirror. It's made such a difference.driving
