As title. Other than it's location can't find any info about how to reset it. Does it automatically reset with the ignition being turned off and on? Can't see a button or switch to do it manually.

I was told - many years ago - that TVR never fitted an inertia switch to the V6 S-series, although I believe the V8S has one.

I would think it would be a mechanically latched device which in an impact would trigger a piston or weighted inertia plunger that would cut the fuel supply or switch off the fuel pump relay.
So I would expect some way of re-cocking the device without having to crash the car backwards wink
Is there anywhere to insert a rod of some sort to enable this?
I don't think early S's has inertia switches fitted.

Any Haynes Manuals cover this subject?

Unless I am getting mixed up (quite common), didn't the S2 and S3 have the inertia switch swapped for a diode in one of the relays??

I think I read this in the bible, when investigating my starting problem.

Feel free to ridicule if I am wrong!! wink

Right. In the Bible it says that the S3C and S4C had them fitted too.

I thought this was it;

I'm now thinking that it isn't an inertia switch and there isn't one fitted. I'll google the part number later.

Thanks.

Ford Inertia Switches.

The "Made in England" type and the USA FoMoCo version were fitted to both US & European Ford cars.

Middlebridge fitted them to their 2.9 V6 cars. TVR didn't.

Just like the real one, don't believe everything you read in it!

P.S. that picture is not an inertia switch wink
