Doing some more chassis painting and I noticed that one of the wheel studs has some thread damage. Is it just a case of knocking it back through the hub and replacing? Anyone know the type and a source for replacement studs?

Agreed. Just one more thought, wonder what caused the damage. If it looks like it could have been caused by overtightening then change them all, not worth the risk for a few bob?

Just a bit of a 'flat spot' on the thread about half way down - Checked all the others and look fine.

Perhaps caused by somebody jamming the studs with a bar to undo the hub nut?

Ray, if you're replacing the studs, make sure you fit the correct length. Too long, and the nuts can bottom on the studs before the wheel is properly tight.

If it's that minor I'd be looking at something like this to just clean it up a bit... scratchchin

I have this problem.
Is the thread M12x1.5 per the Rally Design Ref?
I have a M12x1.75 die only, but can no doubt borrow the correct one if some kind person can tell me the size?

OK,thanks.
Is that an unusual size because I've got two (cheap)tap/die sets and the M12 in both is 1.75 confused
...to be fair one of the sets did come from Aldi smile

I think 1.75 is "standard" bolt thread pitch, wheel studs use a finer thread wink
