Hi All,

I'm taking the plunge, and having my alloys refurbished by Lepsons in Gillingham....

I've no idea on which tyre I should be fitting, and would very much welcome other peoples experiences and views.

Generally I avoid going out in the wet, but anticipate doing the odd track day....

Thanks in advance!

Dry weather road use and trackdays. Nankang NS2R is what I use. Handles the wet (B rated) should you get caught in rain whilst out. Not a Winter tyre though. Works from cold too - ie doesn't need warming up.

I fitted 195 / 55 / 15 harder compound - 180 TL - from Camskill. http://www.camskill.co.uk/m12b0s698p109276/Nankang...

Used without issue on a 520bhp BMW Z4 track / road car so is more than adequate for our humble S's.

If it weren't for the trackdays, I'd be choosing between the Dunlop Blueresponse or the new Michelin Crossclimate.

Dunlop Blue Response (Blue Rinse laugh) or if you want the 55 profile than it is the Dunlop Fast Response.

I have a spare set of wheels, so I may get those set up for track days, and go for the Dunlops for normal road use...

Very helpful advice, many thanks!

Has anyone had any experience of the Maxxis Victras?

Frankly, given how well the Blue Response work - TopgearTVR uses them and pushes them on trackdays - and the price they can be got for I wouldn't waste any time researching anything else.

I only went Nankang as I do regular trackdays.

Got to admit I am delighted by my Bridgestones for the usual combination of British road conditions!

+1 for the Dunlop BluResponse. Great for everyday year-round use, and the occasional foray onto the track smile

Just put some Bridgestone RE002 on to the Chimeara and really pleased with them.

Put Goodyear EfficientGrip on mine as they have a high wet rating, don't do track days so not worried bout that side of things.

They seem to work fine but in all honesty can't tell any difference to these & the then worn Pirelli/Bridgestone combo

yikes No difference?

I sincerely hope those Goodyears are better at avoiding going backwards into hedges Jeremy.
